The majority of beginner guitar and piano content is aimed at teenagers with unlimited practice time and a parent paying for lessons. Adults who are starting at 35 or 50, fitting practice into a busy week, and teaching themselves from home are an afterthought. That gap is why Musicians Workshop exists.

When you search for how to learn guitar or how to start piano, you get a flood of conflicting advice, YouTube rabbit holes, and gear recommendations that assume you already know what you need. Sorting that out takes weeks. Most people quit before they find a method that sticks, not because they lack talent but because the information was never organized for someone in their situation. This site does that organizing work so you do not have to.

The goal is to give adult self-learners a clear starting point, a repeatable daily practice structure, and honest guidance on the tools worth paying for. Nothing more.

Every article on this site goes through the same short checklist before it publishes. If a piece fails any item on that list, it does not go up.

We do not invent numbers. No made-up statistics, fake review counts, or fabricated study citations appear anywhere on this site.

Musicians Workshop is not a music school, not a subscription service, and not a replacement for a human teacher. No one on this site holds a music education credential or teaches private lessons. The articles here are written by an adult self-learner sharing what has worked, not by a certified instructor delivering a curriculum.

This site cannot assess your playing, diagnose a technique problem, or tell you how long it will take you personally to reach a specific goal. Every reader starts from a different place and progresses at a different pace, and no article can account for that.
